REGISTRATION CLOSES AUGUST 1ST
Preseason camp tentatively scheduled for August 16th-20th. More details to come....
This is a combined program where 5th and 6th grade players will be assigned to mixed and balanced teams. Teams have a mandatory practice once a week and an additional optional practice once a week and play either an intramural game or travel game on the weekend.
Tentative Schedule: TBD, but in past years: Mondays @ 6pm and Wednesdays @ TBD, Weekend games
Practice details to be confirmed closer to the season once coach schedules and field times are confirmed.
In past years, the optional practice have been held on an inside court for any 5th and 6th player who wish to participate. The clinic will not be team specific. It is designed to offer players the opportunity to advance their individual skills.
Wilton Youth Field Hockey participates in travel games as part of the Fairfield County Field Hockey League. Game schedules will be posted at the beginning of the season.
The goal of the 5th and 6th Grade Program is to continue to develop each girl’s fundamental skills while introducing competitive play through a mix of intramural and travel games. Girls will play all positions to develop an understanding of the total game, working as a team and reaching individual and group goals while continuing to foster a love of the sport.
The WYFH Intramural program is led by parent volunteer coaches and coordinators. WYFH is dedicated to providing our coaches with training and support throughout the season. Led by the WYFH Head Coach and Player Development Director, Emily Townsend Prince, we offer coaches clinics as well as provide detailed coaching plans and support to assist our volunteers.
**UNIFORM PROCESS**: Additional information to follow. Uniform styles are the same for all 5th-8th grade players and consist of a blue shirt and skort.
